Mini Elf Haul

Hello! About a week ago a got myself a little treat from E.L.F and here it is!

So this is the first time I have ever tried E.L.F products, I've always been quite interested in how good they really are. I've seen numerous reviews on people's blogs and YouTube channels. So as I was running low on a couple of things in my make-up collection I decided to have a look on the E.L.F website http://eyeslipsface.co.uk. If you are unaware of what elf is, it is a website which stocks and sells make-up and everything that goes with it. Prices start at just £1.50. Elf does remind me a lot of MUA, they have similar prices and I would say the product quality is quite similar.

So anyway, here is what I bought and what I thought of each product.

E.L.F Flawless Finish Foundation in Sand - £6.75
When it comes to foundations I am quite fussy and would rather have non than settle for something I'm not completely satisfied with. So when buying this foundation I took a bit of a risk.

So far I can not complain about this product, is has okay coverage, I have quite a bit of trouble covering the redness near my nose which this foundation does not really cover. Other than that this foundation is perfectly okay. It has the added benefit of SPF 15 and it is also oil free, which if like me you end up looking like a disco ball by the end of the day this perfect! This foundation is not heavy at all but its not too light either, its just slap bang in the middle.

 E.L.F Blush in Berry Merry - £3.75
I've been looking for a new blush for a while. I have never been that adventurous when it comes to blushers, I've usually just had the same one for like 2 years. I've wanted a darker blush, so this was my perfect opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. I am glad I did. Although the colours of the actual blushers and the colours they show online are not exactly the same, I thought the blush I ordered would be a bit darker. Non the less I am still happy with my purchase.

The blush is very easy to blend and is not to pigmented, if like me your always in a rush doing your make-up you can just slap it on without having very scary patches of colour on your face. ii have swatched it below on my hand, the swatch on your left is just one coat so it can be used for just a subtle everyday look. The swatch on the right is built up and has turned quite deep and purple, which I really enjoy, especially when I need a bit more colour in my face.
The blush also has a slight gold shimmer in which is lovely on your face as it is not over the stop and you can still highlight.
Overall, I was very happy with this blush and I think I might have to order a few more colours.

E.L.F Healthy Glow Bronzing Power in Luminance - £1.50

I bought this product to act as high lighter, I have been trying to hunt down a highlighter in my price range for so long now. The original high lighter I wanted was the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Highlighting Power, which must have been discontinued because I could not find it anywhere! I already have the Bourjois de Poudre Bronzer which I love!
So when I first opened this product I was a bit scared of the colour of it! I though Oh my god! what have I ordered! but the second I did a swatch I loved it! Again like the blush it isn't too pigmented so it blends nicely, it is warm so it gives you a glowing look! Absolutely wonderful! For £1.50 I cannot complain at all! I would definitely repurchase this!

Brightening Eyeliner in Coffee - £1.50
I bought this eyeliner for my eye brows to neaten up the edges a bit, not for my eyes. Me and pencil eye liner are not good, I get quite greasy eye lids so it just turns into a smudging nightmare!
There isn't really much I can say about this product really... to me all high street pencil eye liners are the same! The only difference I have seen in pencil eyeliners is if you go for something high end.
As far as the product goes it does what it says on the tin, it is quite a neutral shade of brown so its not too dark and garish on my eye brows! It is good quality and definitely an essential that needs to be kept in your make-up bag!

All Over Cover Stick in Ivory - £1.50
I am going to start this by saying I LOVE this product! Before I bought it i looked up a couple of reviews and it wasn't rated that highly but I went with my instinct and bought it anyway! I use this as a concealer, one thing i love about this is how yellow it is, I have yellow pigmented skin but I get patches of pink near my nose, and wowee does it cover it! yes it does! I am over the moon with this product! It gives good coverage and can be used to highlight areas of the skin as well. It also smells amazing! It actually smells like those little love hearts sweets! I cannot get enough! I would definitely recommend this product! it comes in a little white twisty thing, which you twist up and you can apply it directly to the face, with a brush or your fingers. The only downside is that you don't get an awful lot! But for £1.50 who can complain!?

E.L.F Mineral Mist in Clear - £6.00

I went out on a bit of a limb buying this product, when I received it has leaked as you can see in the picture. I have since returned this item. From what I gathered before I returned it I wouldn't be buying it again, for what the product is I would much rather fork out for a more high end product! This product is supposed to make you feel refreshed and give your skin a bit of a boost, you can apply it under or on top of your make up. Instead of making my face feel "refreshed" it just felt wet and like I had just been splashed with water. It annoyed me a bit to be honest. So I will not be buying this product again. If you are looking for something like this, i would definitely recommend the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic in the spritz bottle, it really does its job and it very light on your face.  http://uk.lizearle.com/cleanse-tone-moisturise/instant-boost-skin-tonic.html

E.L.F Eyelid Primer in Golden - £1.50
As I mentioned earlier I get greasy eyelids and I cannot leave the house without eye shadow on, so by the end of the day i have creases and smudges and all sorts of madness going on so I though I would give this eye lid primer a try. I have defiantly say I have seen a difference! I apply the primer onto my eye lids after I have put on my foundation and power, then blend it with my real techniques concealer brush and off I pop apply my eye shadow. I am extremely happy with this product! It was a bargain and works a treat!

100pc Marble Eye shadow Palette - Was £15.00, Now £7.50
I got this palette in the sale and I just couldn't say no! This is my first proper make up palette, apart from them awful ones you would get as a child! Sorry mum! I am already in love with this palette! before I got this my favourite eye shadow for an everyday look was the MUA trio in innocence which is very pigmented and unless you always have the time to perfect your look it can be a big pain in the bottom! This palette is gorgeous, its not too pigmented and the colours are lovely!
So far, me being a plain Jane i have only used one half of the palette which I call my safety colours, all the neutrals! I am yet to venture to the other side of the palette. I would definitely recommend buying this product, I am very please with it and I am hoping it lasts me a while! I think that £7.50 is the perfect price, although I wouldn't spend £15 on it. I think for that price I would rather go for a MAC palette and splash out a bit more.

E.L.F Makeup Lock & Seal - £3.75
I am not going to lie to you all but I haven't get tried this product... I know, why have I included it?! If anyone is currently using this product please comment below on any tips or reviews on what you think about this as it might motivate me to use it. I really have no idea how this ended up in my basket... really... I think I was just over excited that I have ordering from E.L.F and wanted EVERYTHING! It comes with a little bottle which must be the "LOCK" then a little pot and a brush which you use to "SEAL". As far as my understanding goes, you put a small amount of the product into the pot then get some of your eye shadow, lipstick or whatever, mix it in the pot and apply it? hmm... We'll see how I feel about this when I use it.

So there we go! I spent a total of £31.25! I got £5 off with a promotional code and also free delivery, so I didn't do too bad! I hope this was all helpful and not at all too boring! I keep rambling a bit!

Liz Earle Products Review

Liz Earle- My Review

From Left to Right. Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic, Liz Earle skin repair
moisturiser, Liz Earle cleanse & polish.

It was my mum who first introduced me to Li Earle, at first I was a bit sceptic because of how much my mum did actually rave about these products. I just thought they were too good to be true.

When I tried them myself I loved them!

On  http://uk.lizearle.com/ the Cleanse & Polish 50ml with 1 Muslin cloth is currently £14.75

So with Liz Earle my skin routine is to first use the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, when you buy this you usually get a muslin cloth with it. To put one pump of the Cleanse & Polish onto your hand and apply onto your face, you can do this on top of your make up to a dry face. It is amazing at removing all of your make up. You then wet your muslin cloth with warm water, squeeze out the excess water and wipe it off your face. Wa La! your face feels so fresh and clean. You can put the muslin cloths in the wash with all your clothes. It removes stubborn mascara with ease, no need to scrub or end up with no eye lashes.

On http://uk.lizearle.com/ the instant boost skin tonic 200ml is currently priced at £13.25

Next I use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic, which you can get in a bottle like this or a spray. Once I have cleansed my face, I put a small amount of this onto a little cotton pad and gently wipe over my face, careful not to drag the skin. This refreshes your skin and again your feel amazing, in my opinion anyway. With the spray you can use it to freshen up your face after a long day, under or on top of your make up, it instantly wakes your up and keeps you going.

On http://uk.lizearle.com/ the skin repair moisturiser 50ml is currently priced at £19.25

Finally, I use the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for normal/combination skin. This is by far the best moisturiser I have used for my face, its not too heavy and its not too light either. Once I have used the toner I apply this all over my face, it instantly makes your skin feel nourished and soft, I have combination skin so once I have cleansed my face it can feel quite dry, this moisturiser completely changes this. It is a very good base for make up as well as it dries quite quickly.

I would 100% recommend these products. They are not the cheapest of skin care but they are not too expensive either, they do last as well, so your not having to fork out every few weeks. You can buy Liz Earle from John Lewis, Liz Earle website (http://uk.lizearle.com/) and I think that QVC also sell it. They usually have some quite good deals on as well.

Skin cleaning wise, these products for me are the best I have come across, they clear up spots and stop them from coming as long as you use it everyday. The only time I got spots if when I have maybe come in from being out at a party or got in late and just used a face wipe and gone to sleep. My skin has been clearer and smoother since using Liz Earle,

My camera

My Camera

Nikon D5000

I firstly apologise for the awful quality of these pictures as I had to take them on my phone and my phone is just, I can't even...

This is the camera that I will be using for any photos I post onto my blog. I got this camera for Christmas, I asked for this camera because I was going onto do a photography A-level. But when results day came for my GCSEs which I took in 2012, I got 1 A and 3 Bs and the rest, I needed 5 Bs to do A-levels at my chosen college. So I wasn't doing A-levels.

Although this camera has travelled a lot with me, it has travelled from Chorley all the way through French, Germany and Belgium and also to Canada, it has seen Niagara Falls, Toronto and some beautiful scenes. I may do a post on some of my trips soon, we'll see.

Anyway, I do love this camera, I'm still learning how to use it properly. I cannot use to straight away as I have misplaced the memory card... like I said I will probably forget about this blog after a week, I've already lost something quite important to get started! Not good.

Hello!

I have wanted to start a blog for so long, its just always been one of them things I kept putting off cause I thought I'd just forget about it in a week. But here I am, starting a blog, challenging myself to keep at it.

I often find myself spending a lot of time at home, on my own, on my new laptop with nothing to do on it. I don't take part in the messed up social obligations that are Facebook and twitter. I always get asked "Oh my god! you don't have Facebook, how do you cope?!" all I can say is, I cope a lot better than everyone else. Facebook and Twitter started off being a very happy place to spend some of your time but it turned very negative very quickly. I have no problems with people who use such social networking sites, I just don't use them myself.

This blog is most probably going to contain all sorts, make-up, reviews, clothes, hair and whatever else I find myself loving. This blog is me kind of dipping my toes in the water, I really want to start a YouTube beauty/vlog channel, but the thought of someone I know finding it horrifies me. I am not an insecure person, I'm quite confident in my looks and personality but we'll see how this goes and how much my anxiety will allow me to do.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy my blog
Danielle

Me, the day I started my blog. Being all poesy for you all
